Sarah R. Paun, DC, LAc
Pediatric and Pregnancy Chiropractic, Acupuncture, Fertility
Dr. Sarah is a believer in chiropractic through and through and has been in the nearly twenty years since she was first introduced to the field. You can read her blog entry at Paun Pearls, where she explains how she started on the path to serving the community as a doctor.
Dr. Sarah is not just a Doctor of Chiropractic, she is a person that lives the advice she gives her patients. Whenever she feels a cold coming on, she gets adjusted. When she is sluggish on energy, she gets adjusted. When she feels a tension headache coming on, she gets adjusted. When she has stomach cramps, she gets adjusted. And if the day comes when her lower back begins to feel painful, Dr. Sarah will get adjusted.
But every story has a beginning and Dr. Sarah's starts in the southwestern part of Virginia, where she grew up. Many patients can tell she is "not from around here" by the gentle "twang" in her voice. In 1999, she graduated high school and continued her education at Radford University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Foods and Nutrition. After heeding the advice of her brother-in-law, she began classes at the National University of Health Sciences, where she was granted her D.C. in 2007. Following her graduation, Dr. Sarah went on to become a licensed acupuncturist, with over 300 clinical hours to date, to compliment the care she provides patients.
Drs. Joe and Sarah met while attending NUHS They married in 2005 and two years later they not only opened their own practice following Dr. Sarah's graduation, but they welcomed their first child, Nadia. Today, the Pauns have not only watched as their practice has grown, but their family as well. Drs. Sarah and Joe welcomed Joseph ("Junior") in 2010, Jocelynn in 2013, Beau in 2015, and Dane in 2017.
